JUVÉDERM®XC Ultra is a clear, smooth injectable gel filler made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that is present in the body. It is specially formulated to have a smooth consistency with HYLACROSS^™ technology. JUVÉDERM^® is the only hyaluronic acid (HA) filler FDA approved to last up to 1 year with initial treatment. It is approved to treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles; it can also be used for lip augmentation. JUVÉDERM®XC Ultra works because hyaluronic acid is a naturally hydrating substance and by integrating into the soft tissue, it attracts and traps water to maintain volume and add fullness. Overtime, JUVÉDERM®XC Ultra is gradually reabsorbed and follow-up treatments are generally needed to maintain results.

JUVÉDERM®XC Ultra Plus is another formulation of JUVÉDERM®XC Ultra and is also used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles. It is also made with the HYLACROSS^™ technology to create a smooth product, but it is a thicker formulation, which makes JUVÉDERM®XC Ultra Plus a better choice for deeper injections to increase facial volume and contour. Clinical studies show that about 81% of patients who achieved full correction of facial wrinkles with JUVÉDERM®XC Ultra Plus saw results for up to 1 year.
