I started wearing glasses when I was 10. At the age of 22, I switched to contacts lens & had worn them for almost 30 years. What a joy to wake up and be able to start my day without dealing with either contacts or glasses! The surgery was much easier than I anticipated. Kathleen took me through it step by step, several times before I actually went in. Once the surgery began, Dr. Spagnolo again explained everything step by step. Any anxiety I had in advance was needless. My vision is great, I no longer use any type of corrective lens & the staff at Baltimore Washington Eye Center was great! In this world of medical care, there are large groups of doctors in most practices and sometimes it’s not easy to see the same doctor each visit.  Sometimes we are forced to go over our medical history with each and every new doctor we see, and it’s very frustrating to think that you are just a number to the doctor.  When I decided on lasik vision correction, I was worried that I would face the same predicament.  I was afraid that I would have one doctor to handle the exams and one that I hardly knew to do the surgery.  Not at BW Eye!  I was surprised to find one doctor and one manager who know me by name and cater to me as if I was their one and only patient!  Dr. Spagnolo is head and shoulders above other ophthalmologists in competence, personality and bedside manner.   In my opinion, he is the best doctor I have ever come in contact with!  The entire procedure was handled with such care and professionalism.  Kat was simply wonderful!  She assured me that she would be there for me throughout the entire procedure, and with her by my side, I wasn’t afraid.  All my questions were answered and my worries were dealt with immediately.  I was told I could call her at any time – and she meant it!
Pure and simple, the decision to use BW Eye was the BEST decision I have ever made.  I am completely satisfied with my lasik results, and I feel like a new person!  Thank you Dr. Spagnolo and wonderful Kat.

(Some rough estimates here): Glasses - $3,000; Contacts - $4,000; Laser Vision Correction - PRICELESS. After wearing glasses for 25 years, contacts for more than 20, and having various eye issues over the last five that have limited my comfort and ability to wear contacts, I was more than ready to try laser vision correction and I could not be happier with the results. Dr. Spagnolo, Kathleen Kemp, & the rest of the BW Eye Center staff were always available to answer my questions & ensured my comfort throughout the entire process (although I wouldn't have turned down a stronger valium!) It is absolutely amazing to be free of thick and bothersome lenses, sunglass clips, lens cleaners, saline solutions, contact lens cases, and the daily time to take care of those things. It's definitely one of the best decisions I've made regarding my personal health & care and I would do it again in an instant.
